Snack Box is an inclusive wellbeing programme for children and young people, with a particular focus on SEND pupils and those who may face barriers to taking part in traditional physical activity or group provision.
Each session combines adaptive boxing-based movement with practical food craft and simple nutrition education. The programme supports physical health, confidence, communication, independence and social connection in a way that feels welcoming, achievable and enjoyable.
Each session follows a consistent, supportive structure so pupils know what to expect and can take part at a level that works for them.
The session begins with adaptive boxing and movement activities, tailored to individual needs, abilities and energy levels. Exercises can be completed seated or standing and are designed to support coordination, mobility, confidence and physical activity without pressure or competition.
This is followed by a calm, hands-on food activity where pupils create simple snacks, explore affordable ingredients and build an understanding of basic nutrition and healthy routines.
Sessions are delivered in small groups, allowing time for personalised support, positive interaction and meaningful participation.
Snack Box can help pupils develop:
The emphasis is always on participation, progress and enjoyment rather than performance.
Snack Box can be adapted to suit primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, SEND settings and alternative education provision.
Snack Box can form part of:
Sessions can be tailored around the age, needs and learning outcomes of each group.
Snack Box also works well as an after-school programme, giving pupils a structured and inclusive space to unwind, move, create and connect.
The combination of physical activity and practical food skills helps pupils finish the day with a positive routine while building confidence, friendships and independence beyond the classroom.
All sessions are adapted around the pupils taking part and delivered by experienced coaches with lived experience of disability, long-term health conditions or mental health challenges.
We understand that every group is different. Activities can be adjusted around mobility, communication, sensory needs, confidence, concentration and energy levels, helping more pupils take part safely and meaningfully.
Snack Box can be delivered as a one-off workshop, a short course or an ongoing programme.
We’ll work with you to understand your pupils, your setting and what you’d like the sessions to support, then shape the programme around those needs.
